After experiencing the Regionals in Berlin and Madrid to the fullest and enjoying the performances of the best European athletes, we are now looking at the Crossfit Games . While we are preparing games, contests and many surprises to bring to Madison this summer, we are going to review the results of the Games semifinals to find out the 40 men, 40 women and 40 teams selected for the final. As you already know, this year, the division of regions has changed to admit new European athletes in the Regionals, dividing the continent into two parts: Europe and Meridian. On the other hand, the same fervor for this fitness sport has caused Central and South America to separate from South Regional to become the Latin America region. Furthermore, these changes have forced the number of finalists from both regions to be modified. If until now the 5 best athletes/teams in each category competed in the final, this year, the best 4 men, 4 women and 4 Meridian teams will participate in the Games; while only one woman, one man and one Latin American team will travel to Wisconsin. Taking these changes into account, this is how the athletes appear on the official leaderboard of the 2018 CrossFit Games.

Who will be the fittest person in the world?
When reviewing the list of the 2018 CrossFit Games finals, more than one name will surely ring a bell. We will see in Madison, at the beginning of August, the winners of the 2017 Games, Mat Fraser and Tia-Clair Toomey, who will have to defend their title for the third and second time, respectively. We will also see our favorite dottirs: Katrin Davidsdottir (winner in 2015 and 2016), Annie Thorisdottir (winner in 2011 and 2012) and Sara Sigmundsdottir . Among other well-known names from the Games, we will see Patrick Vellner, Kari Pearce, BK Gundmundsson, Margaux Alvarez, Camille Leblanc-Bazinet (winner in 2014), Brooke Wells, brothers Scott and Saxon Panchik, Brent Fikowski, Josh Bridgers, Emily Abbott , Chyna Cho, the Mexican Brenda Castro, Noah Ohlsen, Ben Smith (winner in 2015) Emily Bridgers, Lauren Fisher and the Australians Khan Porter and Kara Webb (now Saunders after getting married). Missing a name, right? Although it is a team, they will also be the fittest man on the planet , the four-time CrossFit Games champion: Rich Froning . After winning the Games from 2011 to 2014, he retired from individual competition to participate with his CrossFit Mayhem Freedom team since then and win as a team in 2015 and 2016. This year, he will also be with his team fighting for a place on the podium in Madison .
PICSIL athletes at the 2018 CrossFit Games
We couldn't finish this review without mentioning our athletes who have won a ticket to the final of the Games. We will see and cheer with great pride for Adrian Mundwiller, Lukas Esslinger, Jen Smith and the Spanish David Mata along with the other members of CrossFit Norte Redondela . And now? We are looking forward to this final of the 2018 CrossFit Games and following the clues that Dave Castro is dropping on his Instagram.
