Hero wods: their origin and which are the most famous

Surely if you do cross training you have probably heard of them at some point. We tell you the origin of the Hero Wods , the most famous workouts with the most stories in cross training , and the reason why you have to do them.

What is the origin of the hero wods

When we talk about hero wods , we are referring to workouts that are named after soldiers who died in combat in the United States. On many occasions the workout itself is like this because it is a training that the soldier in question did, as for example happens with the Murph, one of the most famous (we will see what it is like later). And on other occasions the wods simply bear the name of a soldier to honor his memory. Cross training has always had a very close relationship with the military world and also with the different security forces of a country, since on many occasions they prepare with this sporting discipline. For that same reason, the wink is made to put them. They began to gain strength when the CrossFit company began to incorporate them into its programming in the early 2000s and since then they have been included in the 'Benchmark CrossFit Workouts' Not only men have this type of wods , women are also present. When they have a woman's name we refer to these types of workouts as Girls . One of their main characteristics is that they are very hard and demanding workouts . In most cases, athletes repeat them to see the evolution.
