What a weekend the PicSil team had in the United Arab Emirates for the Dubai CrossFit Championship . As you already know, we have had the honor of being part of the official sponsors of the first official competition of the 2019 CrossFit Games . Have you missed it? We tell you everything that has happened. Four days of competition on the beach, in the desert and lifting irons at a frenetic pace, over 10 events, and all to reach one goal: a direct place for the final of the 2019 CrossFit Games in Madison . This was the motivation of all the professional CrossFit athletes who managed to qualify for the finals of the Dubai CrossFit Championship , which took place from December 12 to 15, 2018. More than 60 men and women and 10 teams had the privilege of debuting the new qualifying mode and thus inaugurate the new season of the Games.
Day 1: Jumeirah Al Qaser Layali Hotel Beach
The competition begins on Wednesday with two events with one element in common: the sea. Gathered on the Jumeirah Al Qaser Layali beach in Dubai, the athletes had to test their endurance and face the waves of the sea. Day 3 and 4: Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium
On Friday and Saturday, competitors faced classic CrossFit events that took place at the Duty Free Tennis stadium in Dubai. Who has won the Dubai CrossFit Championship 2018?
In the men's category, it is clear that Mat Fraser was not going to pass up the opportunity to return to Madison to defend his Fittest on Earth title.
In the women's category, the competition was closer but the veteran and PicSil athlete Sam Briggs managed to earn her direct pass to the 2019 Games, despite a competition with many ups and downs, especially if we talk about the WOD of Olympic lifts. As for the teams, the members of Invictus had it all, staying almost always in the top 3 and winning three events. This is the podium for the Dubai CrossFit Championship 2018. Men's singles:
