Prepare for the Open: 100% sure material you will need

The Open Games 2019 are here, the last ones to be held in winter, according to the old Games modality.

From the early hours of this Friday until next March 25, there will be five weeks of nerves, tension, effort and improvement. In other words, it's time to perform the crossfitero via crucis .

What material do you need for the Open 2019?

Therefore, if you have to invest in material for the Open 2019 we recommend:

Additionally, we recommend having tape or tape on hand in your backpack to take care of your hands when you get a callus (or because you don't like calluses).

If you are an ace at Olympic lifts, you will already have weightlifting shoes in your crossfit kit. If you don't like it that much, all you need is your CrossFit shoes.

Tips to face the Open 2019

If you are new to Open Games , here are some tips to not panic and enjoy your penance.

  1. Rest. The Open is a competition, after all, that demands a lot from the body and mind. Therefore, we recommend not training the day before performing the WOD, sleeping well and eating well.
  2. Heats up. Before doing the Open, don't forget your warm-up routine to activate your muscles and joints. Do it conscientiously even if your nerves get on you.
  3. Listen. Before jumping into the ring, read the WOD instructions carefully, follow the instructions of your coach or the recommendations that Hannah Caldas will give you on the blog .
  4. Think. After understanding the WOD, prepare yourself to control your nerves, think about a strategy to face the exercise and perform it with a cool head.
  5. Breathe. With the tension and rush, you will forget to breathe. Doing a WOD in apnea is not highly recommended if you want to finish it consciously.
  6. Stretch. After the WOD, let your heart rate drop, hydrate and stretch your muscles. Take advantage to regain strength.
  7. Send your results. Remember that you have to send your WOD score online before the following Tuesday at 2 in the morning. Unless you are going to repeat it, it is best to do it after the WOD.
