What a weekend we had in Madison in the last days of the 2018 CrossFit Games . Attending the PICSIL stand at the Vendor Village, experiencing the competition and cheering on our athletes has left us exhausted but happy. After reviewing the start of the 2018 CrossFit Games and announcing the events that awaited us this weekend, it's time to summarize what happened on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin. If the first day of competition was the most exciting, we did not expect such intensity in the rest of the Games.

Chaotic Saturday
The penultimate day of the 2018 CrossFit Games was marked by the toughness of the day's events, especially Chaos, which knocked out two dottirs.
On the one hand, Sara Sigmundsdottir announced her retirement from competition due to a rib stress fracture. The Icelander explained on her social networks that she was already suffering from pain in her side since the start of the competition, despite medical recommendations, she continued competing. But, taking analgesics for the pain was not enough to make it to the end. On the other hand, Annie Thorisdottir suffered an arrhythmia during this same event, but recovered to continue and finish the Games. Another well-known name was withdrawing from the competition: Emily Bridgers dislocated her ankle and suffered ligament injuries.
Event 8: Madison Triplus

And what is the chaos? Well, until the very moment of the event, the athletes did not know what they had to do . This test is very characteristic of Dave Castro's mind when planning WODs. Diversity, improvisation, knowing how to react well to the unknown. This event is crossfit in its purest form. Winners: Patrick Vellner and Katrin Davidsdottir showed their skills in this epic and exciting event.
Event 10: Bicouplet
We explained in the previous post that this two-part event asked for the collaboration of the crossfitter community. After the votes, the audience decided the order of the Bicouplet: first 2 and then 1.
